Dr. Barrett co-founded Celera Genomics with Dr. J. Craig Venter and the Applera Corporation management team. He held the positions of Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer at Celera, during which time the team announced the first successful sequencing of the human genome — an accomplishment within two years of the founding of the company.
Mr. Clarke founded Cardinal Partners in 1997. He has founded and served as interim CEO of a number of portfolio companies, including Alkermes, Inc., Arris Pharmaceuticals, Inc., DNX Corporation and Cubist Pharmaceuticals.
As the former President and CEO of Momenta, Mr. Crane was responsible for building the company from a small, development-stage organization into an established, public biotechnology company with a significant product pipeline. Previously, he was Senior Vice President, Global Corporate Development for Millennium Pharmaceuticals where he was responsible for leading Millennium's strategic partnering, mergers and acquisitions, and licensing activities.

Ms. Fanucci is presently Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Previously, she was Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy at Genzyme. Ms. Fanucci has also served as Vice President and Managing Director at Arthur D. Little, Inc.
As former Chief Counsel for the Food and Drug Administration, Mr. Hutt drafted many of the current FDA regulations. Mr. Hutt currently serves as a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences and teaches a course on food and drug law at Harvard Law School, in addition to serving as a partner at Covington & Burling LLP. He has published numerous papers on food and drug law and health policy.
Dr. Langer is the former Chairman of the FDA Science Board, the FDA's highest advisory board. He has written 780 articles and 450 abstracts, and has nearly 500 issued or pending patents. Dr. Langer has received over 100 major awards, including the 2002 Charles Stark Draper Prize, considered the world's most prestigious engineering prize.
Dr. Sasisekharan's research on complex polysaccharides has led to 90 publications and 30 patents, including the core technologies of Momenta. He has won both the Burroughs Wellcome and Beckman Foundation Young Investigator Awards and was the recipient of 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001 CaPCure Awards from the CaPCure Foundation. Dr. Sasisekharan serves on the steering committee of the Consortium for Functional Glycomics.
Dr. Shapiro served as an Executive Vice President at Merck & Co. from 1990 to 2003. Dr. Shapiro is the former head of Worldwide Licensing and External Research at Merck. Prior to that, he served as the head of basic and preclinical research at Merck & Co. and as Chairman of the Biochemistry Department at University of Washington.
Dr. Stoner is an Executive Partner at MPM Capital. Prior to joining MPM Capital, Dr. Stoner had a 22-year career at Merck Research Laboratories. At the time of her retirement from Merck, Dr. Stoner was Senior Vice President of Global Clinical Development Operations with responsibility for the company’s clinical development activities in more than 40 countries. Prior to her position at Merck, she was an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Cornell University Medical College.
Mr. Wheeler was previously President of Chiron BioPharmaceuticals, the biotechnology division of Chiron Corporation, which manufactured and distributed products treating cancer, cystic fibrosis, and multiple sclerosis. During his tenure, global sales in the division doubled to over $600 million, five new programs were put into clinical development, and a new product was launched. Prior to joining Chiron, Mr. Wheeler served as a partner at The Boston Consulting Group in the firm’s healthcare practice.
